Ash Routh for Deputy Leader.

Time is running out.

Reform have pulled ahead in the polls.

They haven’t done the groundwork, but strong messaging and a clear image has put them within sight of a general election win.

We need to revolutionise our image.

We need a leader who is a skilled performer. Leadership who can work a crowd, not just a council chamber, is how we can take centre stage from Reform.

Why Ash?

Working class & Northern

A big part of our image problem is that we’re seen as middle class, and predominantly focused on the South. We need working class voices, not middle class voices reciting what they’ve heard from their working class constituents. We need somebody in leadership who will ask questions like “why do we have no target seats north of Leicester?”

Experienced

Having first developed my political skills as a councillor, in more recent years I have toured the country as a performing comedian, and have spent three and a half years developing an inside-out knowledge of the party’s substantial catalogue of policies. In interviews and debates, I’ll be quick on my feet, entertaining, and well-informed.

Eco-populist

We need radical change, and only a radical approach will get us there. I won’t wring my hands, I won’t try and pretend our policy is something it’s not. Good politicians should be signposts, not weathervanes. I’m here to change minds, not chase the centerground.
